Prom season has finished

Well that’s it for another year, this years prom season was great! So many beautiful girls and lovely families.

I saw an increase in the number of photographers booked for when the girls were getting ready this year. I think this is an excellent idea as the girls put so much effort into how they look and with their professional photos they can treasure that night forever.

One of the families to use photographer, Steve Hobart, was Nicole’s. I think you’ll agree she is a beautiful young girl who wanted to keep her makeup flawless yet natural with some false lashes to define her eyes. At Nicole’s trial she wanted side curls and thought she made need extensions. As soon as I started curling her hair I knew she didn’t need the extra hair as her own hair was so long and thick! I plaited around the left hand side and incorporated into the curls, and added the diamantés on the prom night to add a bit of sparkle.

The day after the prom I received this message from Nicole’s mum, Sally:

Hi Lisa, just a message to say thanks so much for yesterday. The professional photos should be gr8 I will send you the link when I get it. Her makeup and hair stayed in all night – in fact her face still looked the same at 6am this morning when she came home LOL. The last photo was at the end of the prom and still looking gorgeous!
Thanks again, Sally xx

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge for travel costs? Are a minimum no. of people required to make a booking?
No to both! I travel to anywhere in Essex for both a trial and on the day for no extra charge.
What products do you use?
I extensively research and test all of the products in my kit. They are designed to last all day in any environment yet are still lightweight, therefore allowing your skin to breath. Depending on your skin type I mainly use Chanel, Mac or Bobbi Brown foundations. I concentrate a lot of my time on creating flawless yet glowing bases using these products but other brands in my kit include YSL, Dior and Becca.
Is a trial necessary / What happens at a trial?
Yes, I believe trials are essential when they are possible. It gives you and I the opportunity to create a stunning hairstyle that suits your face shape and hair type. The same applies to ensuring we create the perfect makeup for your skin type and tone, face shape and personal taste. At your trial, which can be held at your chosen venue, we’ll discuss your ideas and then start with your hair and makeup, plus I’ll stay until you are 100% happy. I’ll note all products used and take a photo to ensure the same look is achieved on your big day.
Do I need to pay a deposit and how can payments be made?
Your wedding or special occasion will be added to my diary once the booking is confirmed. A deposit of 50% of the wedding or special occasion cost will need to be paid once you are 100% happy with your trial. If no trial is held then a deposit is required 8 weeks before the big day. The remainder is to be paid on the day. I accept cash, cheque or bank transfer payments.
What happens on the day?
I will arrive at the arranged time, fully equipped and once set up I will begin the hair and makeup of the bridal party before moving on to the bride. Once finished and payment has been made I will swiftly pack up and leave you to enjoy the rest of the day.
